Sari Schorr shares ‘Running Wild’ ahead of new album and European tour
Sari Schorr releases “Running Wild”, the title track from her forthcoming album, ahead of a 46-date European tour starting in London.
New York singer-songwriter Sari Schorr has released “Running Wild”, the title track and second single from her forthcoming album of the same name.
Running Wild is due to arrive through Provogue Records / Artone Label Group on 9 October in Europe and 30 October in the USA. An official video for the new single has also been released.
Discussing the song, Schorr says: “‘Running Wild’ is about the tension between desire and control — wanting someone intensely without trying to contain them. Passion needs freedom to stay alive; hold it too tightly, and you risk suffocating the very thing that drew you in. The song asks how much compromise love can survive before we lose the very thing that makes it exciting in the first place.”
The video was made with videographer Kee Koo after an earlier version was abandoned. Rather than following the song’s narrative literally, Schorr says the second shoot concentrated on capturing its themes and atmosphere.
“Instead of trying to tell the story too literally, we wanted to capture the feeling of ‘Running Wild’ — desire, freedom, danger and that irresistible pull towards someone you know you may never be able to hold on to,” she says.
The track also played an important part in shaping the album itself. According to Schorr, it was the first song written for the record and helped establish the direction for the material that followed.
“I was in an intensely prolific period when we began writing the album,” she says. “‘Running Wild’ was the first song we wrote, and it struck the match for everything that followed.”
The album follows first single “Mr. In The Middle” and contains 10 tracks, including “Monday Morning”, “Man On Fire”, “Call It Freedom”, “Better Day” and “Finding My Way”.
Schorr will support the release with a 46-date European tour beginning at The Lexington in London on Tuesday 29 September. The itinerary continues through Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Czechia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Poland, Austria, Hungary and Switzerland, concluding in Pratteln on 29 November.
