Tim from Tech 21 walks through the ELITE’s next-gen feature set—128 presets, MIDI, app editing, built-in effects and IR loading—before switching to the all-analog Amalgamation Chorus, including Geddy’s subtle movement approach and the Deviate function for bigger, more animated modulation.
Thinking About Guitar’s Nick Jennison is at Tech 21’s booth and NAMM 2026 checking out two seriously exciting new releases: the SansAmp Bass Driver ELITE and the Geddy Lee Signature Amalgamation Chorus.
First up, Tim from Tech 21 walks us through the Bass Driver ELITE, a next-gen bass preamp/DI that keeps the classic analog SansAmp flavor while adding modern power like 128 presets, MIDI, app control, built-in effects, and IR loading. We also jump into how the software/app editing works and what you can do with IRs inside the system.
Then we move over to the all-analog side with the Geddy Lee Signature Amalgamation Chorus, including Geddy’s go-to style of subtle movement and the Deviate function that kicks the chorus into a bigger, more animated modulation.
If you’re into bass DI pedals, bass preamps, SansAmp tones, IR cab simulation, MIDI pedalboards, or Geddy Lee / Rush chorus sounds, this one’s is for you.
