Slash and Myles Kennedy Return With ‘Flying Blind’, Announce New Album and 2027 World Tour

Slash and Myles Kennedy return with new single “Flying Blind”, a new album arriving in February 2027 and a major world tour.

Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators have released a new single, “Flying Blind”, alongside details of their fifth studio album and an extensive world tour for 2027.

The track is the first music to emerge from Flying Blind, which will be released worldwide on February 26, 2027 via Gibson Records. An official video for the single was filmed at The Viper Room in Los Angeles and directed by John Harvatine IV.

The 12-track album was recorded largely live with longtime producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette at Studio Barbarosa in Florida, with Slash joined by Myles Kennedy, bassist Todd Kerns, drummer Brent Fitz and rhythm guitarist Frank Sidoris.

According to the band, the bulk of the record was completed in around a week, with the musicians often recording two songs a day together in the same room.

“It’s a really fun, kind of spontaneous rock ’n’ roll record,” Slash says. “It’s very straightforward and down-to-earth and raw.”

The title track itself was one of the songs to emerge during the sessions rather than arriving as a finished demo.

“Created in the studio while we were standing there in pre-production, a riff came to me and started developing,” Slash explains. “I had nothing of that song prior to those guys coming in, and then we started up a night of rehearsal and played that riff. It came together really quickly.

“As for it being the first single, you never know what the first single is going to be until you’ve recorded it. When I started thinking about it, ‘Flying Blind’ just seemed to have the right kind of melodic sensibilities and a hook to make it single material.”

Kennedy says the lyrics look at the tendency to search for easier routes towards fulfilment.

“I really enjoyed putting a melody to this song,” he says. “The way the chord progression starts in the beginning had a nice flow to it. The lyric is about how sometimes people try to take shortcuts and try to find the easy way to achieve happiness or enlightenment.”

Flying Blind marks the band’s first full-length studio record since 4, released in 2022.

Elsewhere on the album, Slash makes greater use of pedal steel, including on “Looking for a Miracle”, which features what the guitarist describes as his first recorded pedal steel solo.

Other tracks include “Good Time Girl”, “Thrill Seeker”, “One of Your Kind”, “Sweet Kill”, “Rev My Heart” and instrumental “Living the Dream”, before the album closes with “Stem the Flow”.
