Eddie 9V shares ‘Whole Lot Coming For You’ ahead of new album Down Here

Eddie 9V has released a new single, ‘Whole Lot Coming For You’, taken from his forthcoming album Down Here, which arrives November 6 through Easy Eye Sound.

The Atlanta-born guitarist, singer and songwriter recorded the album with producer Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys at Easy Eye Sound Studio in Nashville. Down Here will be Eddie 9V’s first release for Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound label.

Built around a driving blues-rock groove and prominent guitar work, ‘Whole Lot Coming For You’ was among the final tracks recorded during the album sessions.

“‘Whole Lot Coming For You’ was one of my favourites to cut,” says Eddie 9V. “It was one of the last tunes we recorded, and it was nice to just rip Freddie King style blues to just get the juices out. At the end of the day everybody just likes to turn up their guitars and get a jam going.”

The song follows previous single ‘Blowin’ Up’, which debuted on SiriusXM’s The Spectrum in July.

For Down Here, Eddie 9V worked with a group of musicians and songwriters that included Marcus King, Pat McLaughlin and Daniel Tashian. The sessions also marked a change in working method for an artist who had previously handled much of his own writing and production.

“I hope when people hear this record they feel the soul of it,” says Eddie 9V. “I want them to feel like they’re sitting in the studio with us as we’re making music.”

Eddie 9V began playing guitar at six and later established himself through Atlanta’s club circuit before touring outside Georgia as a teenager. His debut album, Left My Soul In Memphis, was released in 2019.
