Martin Guitar and Life is Good launch new LX2 Little Martin collaboration

Martin Guitar has teamed up with Life is Good for a new version of its compact Little Martin acoustic, combining the LX2 format with custom artwork from the lifestyle brand.

The LX2 Life is Good launched on August 27, 2026, following earlier collaborations between the two companies including the LX1 Life is Good guitar, the 0XK Uke Life is Good and a range of guitar straps.

The new model has a solid spruce top decorated with a laser-etched sun around the soundhole, Life is Good branding above the bridge and the phrase “Positive Energy is Powerful Energy” across the body.

Its headplate combines Martin’s script logo with Life is Good’s dragon motif. According to the companies, the dragon was inspired by a bedtime story told by Joan Jacobs, mother of Life is Good founders Bert and John Jacobs, about a dragon that breathes love rather than fire.

“We are in the business of inspiring and uniting people, and nothing on planet Earth does that better than music. A Life is Good Martin guitar? Yes, please,” said Bert Jacobs, Life is Good co-founder and chief executive optimist.

Beyond the artwork, the LX2 follows the portable format associated with Martin’s Little Martin range. It pairs the solid spruce top with Brazilian rosewood-patterned high-pressure laminate back and sides and uses a compact modified 0 body with a 23-inch scale length.

The guitar also features a Modified Low Oval neck profile, a 1 11/16-inch nut width, Richlite fingerboard and Junior-style belly bridge. Other specifications include white Boltaron diamond-and-squares fingerboard inlays, chrome enclosed-gear tuners, non-scalloped spruce X-bracing and a hand-applied finish.

It ships with Martin Authentic Acoustic Lifespan 2.0 medium-gauge strings and includes a softshell case.
