Soccer Mommy shares new single ‘Rings of Saturn’ ahead of Snail Mail co-headline tour

Soccer Mommy has returned with “Rings of Saturn”, her first new song in two years, ahead of a US co-headline tour with Snail Mail.

The Nashville-based project of Sophie Allison last released the album Evergreen in 2024. Her new track was produced by Elliott Kozel, whose previous credits include Rosalía, Björk, SZA, Slow Pulp and Indigo De Souza.

“This song is about feeling lost and looking for hope from anywhere,” Allison says. “I wrote it during a difficult time when I would often take my telescope out into the yard to look at the moon or at planets. There’s something about feeling small that can kind of take the weight off.”

“Rings of Saturn” is accompanied by a visualizer created by Suji Park.

The release follows Soccer Mommy’s recent dates opening for Liz Phair and Sleater-Kinney. Allison will next head out on a co-headline US tour with Snail Mail, beginning on September 30 at The Fillmore in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The tour continues through October, with stops including Silver Spring, New Haven, Pittsburgh, Madison, Nashville, Miami, New Orleans and Richmond. Brennan Wedl will support selected dates during the first part of the run, with Scarlet Rae appearing on later shows.

Soccer Mommy also has a solo show scheduled at First Congregational Church in Portland on November 5, followed by an appearance at Raised by Sound Fest in Memphis on December 4.
